A²SE USA Study Tour

A²SE is holding a study tour to the USA from 6 - 14 May 2010. This tour will give delegates the valuable opportunity to learn more about utility and network regulation, smart grid technologies, and energy efficiency policy approaches used in the USA.Supported by the Alliance to Save Energy and Austrade, the tour will culminate with attendance at the Alliance to Save Energy’s EE Global event in Washington DC, a premier global energy efficiency event that brings together energy efficiency thought leaders from all over the world.

Registrations for this study tour have now closed. A report on the tour will be posted on this website soon after the study group return to Australia.

Advocates form Energy Efficiency Advocates Network

In February 2010, energy efficiency advocates from over 20 organisations representing a range of sectors met in Melbourne and Sydney to share ideas and collaborate on energy efficiency advocacy work. The sessions aimed to map the current state of play in energy efficiency policy, gaps that still remain, and common priorities on which to be more effective by creating consistent arguments.

Participants agreed to form an Energy Efficiency Advocates Network (EEAN) to promote information sharing and common understanding between different constituencies. The EEAN will now meet regularly to help sustain momentum behind energy efficiency implementation.

Some of the organisations represented at the EEAN meetings included the Energy Users' Association of Australia, Australian Conservation Foundation, Facility Management Association of Australia, Electricity Retailers Association of Australia, the Australian Industry Group and the Climate Institute.
